Late port departure and traditional early dining

Just curious...what happens when the port departure and sailaway are during early traditional dining? The reason I ask is because if you are anytime dining do you run the risk of traditional diners using anytime that night after sailway ..thus making it harder for you to get a table? In other words should one with anytime dining make sure they have an anytime dining reservation for that night.

One of my few complains about Princess is this very thing. Most of the time they don't check your cruise card at the door when using Anytime Dining. So it is being used by Traditional diners who want to eat at a different time that night. And now that one of the AT dining rooms is being used for a third Traditional seating, there are even less tables available for people like us who sign up for Anytime Dining and like to eat early.

As for making a reservation...that's another thing that's inconsistent. Some ships allow AT reservations, some don't. Other's accept it only at certain times. It really depends on the Maitre'd.
