waterdave Posted September 7, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted September 7, 2011 What are the chances i will be charged for data roaming here, even though ir says att?
bradpole Posted September 7, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2011 What are the chances i will be charged for data roaming here, even though ir says att? I've never been charged for using my iPhone in St. Thomas or San Juan. Both are US Territories and included in my basic plan. I also keep my iPhone on Data Roaming off to ensure I don't accidentally use it onboard the ship or in a foreign country.
Lsimon Posted September 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2011 St. Thomas is part of ATT's basic domestic plan area since it is a U.S. Territory. That's why your data was working even though you have data roaming turned off. You were not roaming! This also applies to the other USVI and to Puerto Rico as well. sail7seas Posted September 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2011 I have used my AT & T phone from St. Thomas and San Juan for years with no roaming and no limit. It's the same as if I am calling 'down the street'.
