How far from FLL Airport To Port??

Have only been to FLL once, so I don't know

much about the area.

So once again, what area of FLL should

I book a hotel in to be close to the port?

Looking for a hotel pre-cruise so, I just

want to be sure I get one

close to the Port of FLL.

Hi...not sure what kind of hotel you are looking for but I can tell you one thing...you can actually see the port (Port Everglades) from Fort Lauderdale Airport....it is only about 2 miles away....we have stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and at the Hyatt Summerfield near the airport, lots of people like the Embassy Suites on 17th St, as well there are numerous great hotels...I'm sure there will be lots of suggestions on here shortly

As mentioned, FLL is not far (5 minutes) from the port. Depending on your flight arrival time is how I would search for a hotel; Arriving late 1 night pre-cruise, stay at a FLL airport hotel with shuttle. Arriving 1 full day or more pre-cruise, pick Ft. Lauderdale downtown Las Olas, 3 star or better. If you have to have a beach view, depending on what month (Feb. is not beach weather), you could choose that area, but it will require a taxi and it will be just a little further away. Doubltree Galleria is nice and on the Intercoastal Waterway about 2 blocks walk to the beach but a $20+ taxi ride to the airport and port.

I Am going to FLL 12/3/11, then going on

NOTS, 12/4/11. Will arrive around 1:00 pm

on 12/3/11. Just want a nice place to relax,

sit by the pool, and a little night life in the area..

Going a day early really relieves the stress

level. Especially coming from the northeast

in December..
