Excursions not charge to room When the change

Hello sailed last year out of New Orleans on Truimph shore excursion was charge to room. Sailing Sept 25 on Splender just booked shore excursions had to put on credit card. When did this change. I bought fun ship dollors to cover excursions and such. Not complaning just courious. Thanks

Its been that way as long as I can remember .. since 2006 anyway.. how long since you last cruised on carnival?

 

Only Princess lets you book and doesnt charge you immediately that I know of.

NCL has always billed our excursions to our room charges. Our Carnival cruise excursions have all been independent operators so far.

Good to know. Iv only done RCL, Carnival and Princess.

I wouldn't be too opposed to paying for excursions in advance to keep that final bill from getting too large. As long as I'm paying cash and the refund policy for canceled excursions is good.

NCL recently changed their policy's where they now required payment to complete a excursion if you book online before the cruise.
