godzillapony Posted September 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2011 Howdy Everyone! I am a first-time cruiser (or will be) looking to cruise in October/November of this year. My boyfriend and I are considering a 7-day cruise in the Bahamas on the Norwegian Jewel. Our concern is whether the weather will be warm enough for pool and beach time. I am a true blue beach bum and would prefer weather at least in the upper 70s if not low 80s for me to enjoy the beach. So I wanted to know if the Bahamas or Caribbean would be warmer. Also, I'm concerned about the weather at sea. Will it be too chilly (windy) to spend time in and around the pool? Basically, I'd appreciate any feedback on people's experiences of weather this time of year when cruising in the Bahamas or Caribbean. Oh, and yes, I do realize it's hurricane season :) Thank you! -Godzillapony
Scrapperjill Posted September 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2011 I have no idea what the weather will b like this year... But from past experiences... Cruising in September, October and November in the Bahamas n caribeen the weather was BEAUTIFUL!! Warm, sunny... Periodic showers at times (mainly from the rain bans from the incoming hurricane)...but the rain was welcome... Nice time to cool off from the sun n heat. Anyways we all came home with tans n burns. The weather was wonderful My BF and I recently booked a cruise for this November and can't wait!! Bring on the sun!!
Scrapperjill Posted September 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2011 Forgot to add... On the upper decks it does get windy... But that's from the movement of the ship mainly. The pool areas are normally protected domewhat And... For the most part everytime we have cruised (always in hurricane season)... The seas have been smooth like glass. Not that they always are... But that's just what we've encountered
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2011 We just did a couple of cruises again in October and November last year -- the weather was beautiful!! But who knows what it will be this year?
Jimnbigd Posted September 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2011 Should be fine. Chance of hurricanes still in October, so I'd wait until November or even the 1st week in December when ships are decorated for Christmas.
