irish2005 Posted September 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2011 Are the aft balconies on Glory worth the extra charge? Are the rooms and the balconies bigger? Thanks
tracyanns Posted September 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2011 Are the aft balconies on Glory worth the extra charge? Are the rooms and the balconies bigger? Thanks If you are talking about an AFT extended balcony and NOT the aft wrap cabins the cabins are the same size. The balconies are a bit larger than a standard balcony, about 40-50% larger...but the slanted railing will take some of that room away from what I hear. I am sure you will hear about how great the Aft wrap cabins are but they are WAY different than an extended balcony aft. I have not stayed in one yet, will be in 8 days and can let you know, but I hear there are pros and cons...I hear the view is amazing but I hear there is no breeze so it can get hot...either way, a cruise is a cruise... firefly333 Posted September 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2011 Cabins are the same size, only deeper balconies. I think I prefer the side balconies, more convenient, and the aft balconies, half not covered and I burn easy. Not my cup of tea to not be able to see where we are going, but others love them. ranger10! Posted September 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2011 Aft wrap is soooo worth the money. The cabin is the same square footage but the set-up makes it seem bigger. The cabin is built on a diagonal. So it's not a straight shot in type of cabin. My brother had a regular balcony cabin and when we compared the two our room seemed much bigger. We hung out in our room and balcony most of the cruise. At one point we made ourselves leave our room and explore the ship. Usually this is the first thing we do, but we enjoyed our balcony and room so much that exploring the ship wasn't as important as it used to be. I say go for the Aft Wrap. You won't be disappointed. Since you are Aft you will get more vibration from the engines than usual. It didn't bother us.
campdaan Posted September 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2011 We stayed in 7442 on the Glory. Yup... It was worth the extra cost... 7442 does not have a couch. There is a table and chair instead. We had the divider on the balcony open for relatives staying in 7444. Balcony of 7444 7442 & 7444 with the divider open
