DBKK Posted September 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2011 Has anyone taken the bus from ferry dock to Cinnamon or Trunk Bay? How was it and what did it cost? If not the bus, how much was taxi?

Ms411 Posted September 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2011 BTW, I see you're sailing in Oct. Cinnamon's facilities are closed until, I think, Oct 14. If you go there, you'll probably have the beach to yourself, but no restaurant/restrooms/rentals, etc.
Stevesan Posted October 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2011 Reference vinow web site: Many taxis are multi-destination and some can carry up to 26 passengers; drivers will often wait to fill their vehicle before departing (particularly from the ferry dock and popular beach locations like Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay). Cruz Bay "taxi" to Cinnamon Bay is $9 p/person. Trunk Bay $8. Ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay is $6/adult $1 children. Taxi from Charlotte Amalie is $13 w/1 passenger, $10 p/person w/2 passengers. Total transportation cost R/T Charlotte Amalie and Cinnamon Bay would be $56 for one person. Emerald Princess' price for the Trunk Bay excursion is $59 adult, $39 child: Your tour begins as you board a ferry for a 45-minute, narrated cruise to St. John, known as the "Emerald of the Caribbean." Upon arriving in the charming town of Cruz Bay, you'll board an open-air safari bus for a scenic drive to Trunk Bay in Virgin Islands National Park, the southernmost National Park in the United States covering approximately three-fifths of St. John. Be sure to bring your camera, as you'll make three photo stops along the way. Upon arriving at Trunk Bay, you'll be in awe over its stunning beauty. Bordered by sea grape trees, coconut palms, and tropical forests, its crystal blue-green waters are teeming with coral reef life. After a short orientation, you'll set out on the famous underwater snorkel trail, following markers that describe the many species of fish and corals that make Trunk Bay their home. For over an hour, you're free to snorkel, swim, or simply relax. Your tour concludes with a return ride aboard the ferry to the pier.
