39august Posted October 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2011 I know ship dockings can vary with winds, currents etc. But which side of the ship is usually overlooking the dock at Falmouth, please, port or starboard?
Maya57 Posted October 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2011 I know ship dockings can vary with winds, currents etc. But which side of the ship is usually overlooking the dock at Falmouth, please, port or starboard? I don't know if this is still true, but many years ago an officer from a cruise line said thst if possible they alternate which side overlooks the dock. This is done so the crew can paint the side of the ship. I believe they paint the sea side so paint don't drip on the pier and safety in the even they fall. Of course this depends on which side needs painting and what the port authority approve Like I said up front not sure this still applies
atljoo Posted October 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2011 The starboard side faces the dock in Falmouth.
bajathree Posted October 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2011 If it's Oasis/Allure you are talking about....since it docks starboard 99% of the time it would be the starboard side.
iluvkst Posted October 6, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2011 Speaking of which....how is the progress coming along with Falmouth? Is it complete yet?
