Meeting place near Port Everglades

We are on a B2B cruise that will have a turnaround day on a Sunday in November wherein we will be off the ship from mid morning till around 4PM. A couple of old friends plan to drive over from Naples, on the gulf coast, to visit with us. Can anyone suggest an easy to find (for all of us), meeting place such as a restaurant or landmark or . . . . with parking, perhaps on 17th street in Ft Lauderdale?

why not start out at a hotel....the renaissance is easy to find and pretty much opposite the entrance to the pier..NOT walkable but about a $10 cab ride...and the lobby isn't huge.

 

Then you could walk to one of several places along 17th street to eat....or drive as well...lots of shopping places with parking lots...OR ride down toward the beach....

Bimini Boatyard does a Sunday brunch on 17th St. Lester's Diner on State Rd 84 is open 24 hrs so they'll be open no matter what time you get there.
