What's the earliest flight time we can book out of Vancouver after our cruise to Alaska in 9/2012? According to our itinerary, the ship docks at 7:30 am. We are flying home to Orlando and there aren't many afternoon flights.

Thanks.

Every time we've disembarked in Vancouver we had to stay an extra night in town. Not a bad place to visit though.

Unless you take a shuttle to Seattle , you'll probably have to overnight

in Vancouver . If you take the shuttle to Seattle , you'll only be able to take a red eye to Orlando. We have taken the red-eye and not a good idea. Either way you'll have to overnight in Vancouver (preferred) or Seattle.

In actual fact the ships are along side at Canada Place between 6 am and 7 am. If you can self disembark then you should be off the ship by 8 am and thru Canadian customs by 8:30 am latest. At that point you are about 35 mins from YVR by cab or you can walk over to Waterfront Station (about 2.5 blocks) and take the Canada Line out to YVR...that will take about 35/40 mins in total. Therefore you will be at YVR shortly after 9 am and and if you allow 2 full hours for clearing US Customs and security you will make a flight for 11:30.

I'd like to point out that if you are cruising into Vancouver in the beginning or end of the alaska season, you might get caught up in some nasty weather which could cause delays. This is more frequent on coastal cruises but ive heard about it on alaska cruises as well. get a late flight if possible. if you are heading to the east coast, most flights either leave early or are red eyes anyway.
