I need some help!

okay, i have a couple of questions that i hope someone can help me with.

1) i reserved my cruise with NCL directly, not through a TA. i have just found a cheaper price through a website, and it's approximately $50 cheaper/person. however, i log back onto NCL to check their current rates, and the rates they are quoting now are exactly $50 more/person than i paid. if i call them and quote the cheaper price i've seen, will they recognize that price? i've paid $750 down so far, and still have another $6xx to go.

2) i purchased the insurance through NCL. it was $89/person...is this unreasonable? and can i find a cheaper rate? if there are cheaper rates available, can i make an ammendment to my purchase?

thanks so much. i am stressing about this, and my husband keeps saying it's not that big of a deal, but i am just a little confused.

HI Aim:

Ok this is what I think you should do, If you found it cheaper, contact NCL tell them what you just told us. ask them to match it.
If they say NO cancel the cruise. then rebook it thur this new TA you found on line. Just be careful this Online Website is SAFE!

Regarding insurance it depend on your age. I paid a little less but prehap I did cause im older then you.
I paid thur access america $71 for both my husband & myslef.
Now insurance i dont think is refundable. so your stuck there!
so what cruise did you pick detail !
cruise is lots of fun you will love it if never been before
Good luck!

I am not canceling, but do have a question for future reference. I booked the Dawn through Cruise Value Center and everything I read says there is a $75 p/p cancel fee.

We are not going till October and I am no where near my final paymt.

Are you telling Aimnic that everything is fully refundable because she booked directly through ncl, or does that not matter?

Also, insurance is never refundable, right?

DJ

just wanted to let you guys know that i called NCL back and they said they could not match rates...so I called and cancelled the cruise (and they let me cancel the insurance too, with NO penalty!!!).

i then rebooked with the cheaper rates i found, and got the insurance a lot cheaper, too. all in all, i saved about $200.

thanks for all your advice!

Some places, like CVC charge a cancellation fee no matter when you cancel. That's why some people don't book too far out with those types of agencies. But if you book directly with the cruise line or with an agent that doesn't charge a cancellation fee, everything is refundable.

We booked on the Sun with a TA who said she found us the best deal. We wern't happy with this but made the deposit anyway. She couldn't get us the cabin, or deck or week we originally wanted. We said well ok. Lets go. I was very uneasy with this 1st TA arrangement and treatment. She has been very sarcastic. Then we found another TA been in business for 30 yrs. Got us on the date we wanted, the original room and deck we wanted at $500.00 less each. Plus booked our flights, got the seat assignment and the room the night before the cruise.Total saving from the 2nd TA turned out to be $1000.00 each. So after a struggle with the 1st TA we were able to get our original deposit back. As for insurance the 2nd TA advised us to use 3rd party insurance carrier. ie, if the cruise line went out of business, ie bankrupt, the line won't give you the insurance money back. You are safe in getting the money back if you booked 3rd party. Which we did. Now we are looking forward to our trip in November. Have all the itiniarys in our hand. All deposits, tours made. Just sitting and waiting. Hope this helps.

7 days of relaxation and fun..on the NCL Sun
