Airport or airstrip

There may still be a small airstrip in Xcalak, about 70 kilometers (35 miles) to the south, but I think the closest airport is Chetumal about 200 kilometers (125 miles) south. But no direct US flights to either. You can connect to Cancun or Mexico City. Other alternative is Cancun about 4 1/2 hours north.

Thanks Crewsweeper. I did finally find a small private strip there in Mahahaul.

I was looking at trying to fly down to Ambergris Caye for a few hours like we do when we are in Belize City.

That'd be nice if you can swing it. Say hey to Wade the Gringo if you make it. Is that Charter Air? They used to fly into Xcalak from Cancun.

You know I didn't get to meet Wade when we stayed in San Pedro for a week. Met a bunch of others that post on the AC forums though.

I haven't been able to find anyone to fly us to AC for the day. It's a private airstrip there in Mahahaul with just some privately owned Cessna types as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the lead on Charter Air. I'll research them when I get a chance.

Michael.......
