SueFrankuk Posted October 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2011 We have had notification from Princess to stagger boarding depending on which deck you are on, we have preferred boarding and would love to be in in time for lunch in the dining room, anyone know which dining room is open on the Grand?, will we have a problem getting there earlier than stated?. 1 HappyCruiser Posted October 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Don't pay any attention to the notice. Get there at the time you normally were expected to arrive & you'll be fine. They're just trying to stagger some people to make boarding smoother & if you follow they suggestions you'll miss out on the DR lunch.
Luvmyrotti Posted October 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Have a great time on your cruise! Would be sure to come back and share with us your persepctive on the cabins in terms of wear and tear? There have been a lot of threads lately about the cabins on the Grand not being up to snuff with very worn furnishings and very rusty balconies, so it would be great to know if they've been doing any cabin refreshing. Thanks and have a great time!

We were on the Grand in August. The Terrace Pool is now a family pool. The adult only pools are the one in the Conservatory and the spa pool. Princess Patches Posted October 19, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Just ignore the notice. Lunch is served 12:00 - 1:30 p.m in the dining room on embarkation day. Boarding starts for elites, platinums, and suites around 11:30 a.m. with general boarding starting about 15 to 30 minutes after that. If you want to have lunch in the dining room I would get to the port at 11:00 (check usually opens at 10:30-11:00 a.m.). Get checked in and then get in the boarding line. After boarding, put your bags in your room and then go directly to the dining room. Although lunch is served until 1:30 p.m., they start turning passengers away by about 1:00 p.m. because there won't be time to finish lunch. Are you absolutely sure they're designated it OK for kids? Sometimes they just overlook the fact that they're in the pool.

It had a sign next to it saying Family Pool.
