Hi can anyone tell me is there an easy way to get from the ship into Athens for shopping etc.

Provided strikes have not shut down the Metro, you can walk about 20 minutes to the Metro that for 3E a day will take you into the city. Walk along the sidewalk with the water on your left and eventually you come to a busy street that goes North about 3-4 blocks to the Metro.

Wear your money belt.

Actually if you walk along the water you will come to an elevated walkway that goes over the road to the other side. The metro stop is right there.....buy your ticket, validate it in the little machine (very important !) and get on.....
