mdrobtx Posted October 25, 2011 #51 Share Posted October 25, 2011 There was a huge issue with our cabin. There was a knocking/dripping sound over the closet, near the door, almost continuously. Shawna and I had the same kind of problem on the Star. I said "NO WAY". I got one of the ships officers and a maintenance guy in the cabin. They immemdiately moved us. Great review Suzie. It looks like ya'll had a fabulous time. WE'VE GOT TO CRUISE AGAIN TOGETHER!!
pryd Posted October 25, 2011 #52 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Looks like you both had a great cruise. I have 1 "Kinda Dumb" question. Was there a fridge in your cabin? I saw the vent holes in the cabinetry but was not sure if it was for the fridge? Second question about the Your time dining. Did you have to request to have the same wait staff or was that just how it worked out? Loved the review, photos and your style....Especially the teh's...LOL I do that everytime also. There was a fridge. It was filled with soda and alcohol. They would have removed it if we wanted to use the fridge for our own things but we didnt. It appeared that they knew where we sat the night before. Maybe the computer told them when they enetered our cabin number. We never requested anything except to share and we ended up in the same area of the dining room each time. About the "teh's"- I kept scanning for mistakes after I typed a bit and had tons of teh's and -ign's (at the end of words) I would think they were all fixed and low and behold, I'd read my posts over after I hit submit and there would be more! Then, I'd edit and fix some and still miss more. They should have a spell check on this thing! LMAO! :D

I wish we would have pushed them more about that noise. In the beginning we really thought it end at any time. I feel bad for the people who got that cabin next. Funny thing, one time, a tech came in and changed the knob on the temperature control to "fix" it. We cracked up thinking "these fools really think we're stupid". They kept doing simple silly stuff like that instead of opening the panel to see what the real problem was. Maybe they did that when we got off and the cabin was empty---but I doubt it.
shonandsuzie Posted October 25, 2011 Author #55 Share Posted October 25, 2011 From a small town outside of Ann Arbor called Manchester...nobody knows where it is so I just say Ann Arbor. ;) It doesn't take much to convince him really...just have to sell the whole package with airfare/hotel/cruise. lol. :D Hmmm. Yup, never heard of Manchester. I bet Shon has, I'll ask him. It is a long flight. We were so tired! And the time change factor was a small issue. The hotel is pretty cheap if you priceline it. Good luck!

gelo7 Posted October 25, 2011 #57 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Cabo #2Shon's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a lazy morning and then tendered off to find some birthday fun! Like I said previously, we found "the perfect birthday spot" on our adventure around the marina on Cabo #1. So once we hit land, we set out to find "the spot". We had to weave in and out of the water taxi vendors and people selling this and that but eventually, we made it to "the spot"! This is "the spot": and this is what we went there for: (notice how the glass and drink even match us?) Dont worry, we shared it. They put 1 and 1/2 bottle of tequila in this mega margarita! It was strong and good and teh perfect birthday treat for a 40-year-old! (snicker snicker) It was $35 and we tried to haggle them down to $25 but really would have paid $40. We also ordered shrimp quesadillas which were outstanding. We tried our best to finish the birthday drink but could not! It knocked me out, twice! Afterwards, we went back to the ship and passed out for 3 hours. I woke up feeling fine but Shon was a bit "headachy" (because he was stubborn and didnt take my advise to take motrin and a bunch of water before falling asleep!) He did bounce back quickly for a 40-year-old (snicker snicker) and we made it to our reservations at the steakhouse for his birthday dinner. The steakhouse service was excellent. The food was delicious! That drink looks like it could knock 20 people out.

Go 15 mins south and you are in Manchester. Lol. It would be even longer for us since we are on the east coast....but definitely one for the bucket list. :D
MzOhioLady Posted October 25, 2011 #60 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Hey Chickee Poo! Tell Shon, Boo (Thomas) and I, said Happy Belated Birthday! Even with both of us drinking that HUGE Margarita, I seriously doubt if we would have finished it Either. I'm sure you two gave it your all though. We enjoyed your review. Take Care! babies12 Posted October 25, 2011 #61 Share Posted October 25, 2011 LOL!!! We got through about 2/3 of it. Somewhere around that point we said to eachother "what are we trying to prove?" I am sad that I got too drunk to take a picture with the baby lion. There was a both taking collections for animals and they had a baby lion that you could hold for a donation. I talked about it the entire time but in the end, Shon thought I'd drop it! LOL. I thought I might not know my strength and squeeze it too tight. Dang tequila! Next time.... Those "donations" for the baby lions are a scam. It's well known in Cabo. The baby cubs are drugged so you can handle them and take pictures. When they are grown they are slaughtered as they are of no use. Please, for those going to Cabo in the future, please do not DONATE to this false organization. ebonniekins Posted October 25, 2011 #63 Share Posted October 25, 2011 This was the view from the lido deck. You can see the Crown Plaza. :) The background view from this angle is not as cute-but it shows the slide which spills out into a holding tank of sorts and not a pool. The deck below is the Aft pool/hot tub (adults only). Our roll call met here for an informal get together at sail away. Before we headed out to the sailaway, we made stop by one of our old friends from a previous cruise. He was our bartender on the Grand Cabana Oasis on Half Moon Cay! He remembered us and our friends. Of equal importance is the fact that he still made a mean MOJITO! He said he'd be bartending in the casino for the entire cruise. Yippeeeee! OMG Mojito man! What was his name again! He as so sweet and man he made mean drinks PERIOD!!!!

All4fun&fun4all Posted October 25, 2011 #65 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Cabo #2 ! You guys remind me of us! Your destinations as well as the matchy clothes. My Andrew is the one that gets all matchy which is funny to me. I go along with it. It makes me smile. Also, DANG! That is a HUGE drink! LOL. We would attempt it as well....with the same results. How did y'all make it back to the ship? I dont have a cruise booked and if we did it wouldnt even be to Mexico (for logistics reasons) but I do enjoy your reviews. It gives me some ideas what we would potentially do if we ever get to Mexico.
TB08 Posted October 25, 2011 #66 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Wonderful Review! We were on the Spirit to Alaska September 13, 2011 and it sure brought back memories seeing your pictures of the ship. We had an Aft balcony and everything was so conveniently located. I peruse through my pictures and dream of going on a cruise again. Seeing your pics of Mexico has definitely made our minds up about wanting to go on that cruise! I don't know if we could handle that drink, but you never know, my husband loves margaritas!!! :p

I found a picture of us when we were 21 and our outfits matched even then. :) I think it's fun to hear about other matching couples! Good to meet you. As far as getting back to the ship after that drink.... all I can say is good thing we weren't driving! Wonderful Review!
