Suggestions for Costa Maya, Please!

My family will be visiting Costa Maya at the end of June. Myself, DH & Two DD's 3 & 11. Do you guys recommend doing one of the beach party breaks or just winging it around tapas or one of the surrounding bars/restaurants.

It would depend on how much you want to drink and how important the convenience of booking thru the ship is to you.

 

Personally, I prefer the lower price and control I have from doing it myself, so I'd just take a taxi to Mahahual, find some chairs along the beach and relax. The day at the beach in Mahahual what probably my families favorite day of our cruise.

We don't drink (alcohol, that is). Were there any motorized or non-motorized water sport stuff around close?
