cjojojo Posted October 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 I was wondering if Carnival allows roller skates on board. I am part of a roller derby league in south texas and I'd like to still be able to skate a little bit while I'm on board. I know the ship I'm sailing on (Carnival Magic) has a jogging track, but is that limited to only joggers? I figured it would be best to ask now than to take up luggage room with them only to find out that they're not allowed. Thanks in advance!:p
JenLOverbey Posted October 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2011 I think I saw a rule for no "heelies" so that's probably a no no.
klmorg Posted October 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2011 This is from the carnival.com prohibited items listing: • Any footwear with wheels, i.e. Heely’s type shoes
gogetter Posted October 24, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 24, 2011 I dont think the jogging track would be suitable for qUADS. I thought the jogging area has a rubbery type surface, not really helpful for quad skates or even inline which i doubt you use.

Upandadam Posted October 24, 2011 #13 Share Posted October 24, 2011 Uh oh, we are taking our bike with us..........I read no heelies but nothing about wheelies. Actually, we just recently discovered that some lines do offer motorcycle cruises. Not sure if Carnival does, but you ride your bike right on up the gangway and then while in port, ride it off. Now that's something worth looking into.

We docked behind an RCL ship in St Thomas and the bikes were unloading off the ship. We talked to some of the riders sounded like fun but not in St Thomas with those roads. Our MC group did one but we didn't go sounds like fun time. Escorted around at each port of call.

Thanks in advance!:p Most jogging tracks on ships have some sort of "soft" material (rubber or turf) on it which would make roller skating hard to do. The rest of the upper decks are "Teak" which would get damaged from constant use from roller skates.

ETA was booking motorcycle cruises aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Independence of the Seas. Plus they were to add the Oasis of the Seas. They probably have a special storage area down near where they keep the cargo that they use for the Motorcycles. They would not be taken in the normal pasenger areas.
