PH Posted October 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2011 My friends and us booked two side by side balcony rooms a year ago. My friends have to get off a day early to make an early morning flight. They are getting off in Rome and taking a train to the Florence airport. They did not ask for any money back, just informed MSC that they would be leaving a day early. Without asking or even informing us they moved our friends to a different floor. We only found out when they booked an excursion and the room was listed. Our travel agent who I have used for years has been trying to get it changed back for three days. No Luck. Any suggestions? PH
PH Posted November 1, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted November 1, 2011 After a lot of calls, including call from the vice president of a very large travel agency, MSC did something about the room changed. They moved us to two rooms side by side. We lost our over sized balcony which we booked a year ago just to get the balcony. They say it is an upgrADE BUT I DON'T SEE IT. tHE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN THE ROOMS IS A MUCH SMALLER BALCONY AND THE NEW ROOM HAS A FOLD OUT COUCH RATHER THAN A MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE NON- FOLD OUR COUCH. wE SHOULD NOT HAVE LOST OUR ROOMS. I HAVE BEEN ON 35 CRUISES. I HAVE NOT BEEN ON AN msc. I( hope the rest of our experience is a lot better than the begining. PH
camofwilliamsburg Posted November 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2011 I can understand your frustration. We also book far in advance many times to get the cabin of our choice. Usually I tell my TA NOT to allow my reservation to get an upgrade. Enjoy your cruise on a beautiful ship!
