Qatars flight checkin

Hi,wonder if anyone as checked in on qatar airways,I have been given a flight ref number,from my online T/A.but still cant check in and i want to book certain seats,i have still got about 8 weeks before we fly,as anyone checked in before this or is it still a bit early,

You cannot generally check-in for a flight until about 24 hours before. To pick seats from Qatar Airways on their web site you probably want to choose "Manage a Booking" rather than "Check-in Online." Qatar Airways is without a doubt the best airline I have flown. Took it last spring from London to Dubai.
