I see that it's $89.00 for the regular pass and $145.00 for the express pass. Has anyone ever gotten a regular one and exchanged it for an express pass at the park? Is it any cheaper? Thanks!

Absolutely, upgrade at the park.
It is much cheaper. I think it's about $20 p/p. When are you going? If it is not buys season you might not even need it, but it is very cool to have. You will get on each ride in literally minutes. The only problem with be if it is very busy (Christmas, Spring Break, etc.) Universal said it reserves the right to limit the number of Express passes it sells. I have never heard of them actually stopping, and I was there through Christmas/New years this past year, but that chance is there I guess. Have fun!!

do it yourself by universal studio .com, we got express for 25 dollars, each we saw every ride in the park and was back on the ship by 6. that was during easter week and it was very busy. people on the cruise with us told us they only got to do 3 rides all day!

Thanks! I'm going May 16th so I'm not sure about the crowds, but I rather not make it a stressful day especially since I want this cruise to relieve stress! So Express Pass it is!

All over the place there are little booths that sell tickets that people have turned in - they don't use all of their days or whatever and sell it to the booth people. We bought one day tickets for I think about $15.00 each. I can't quite remember for sure because it was 2 years ago, but that may still be an option.

They've used hidden cameras to buy from these booths and several times when the people tried to use them, they were denied at the gate because the tickets were really expired or had already been used. If you go this route, be careful.

I'm buying my tickets through NCL, the 89.00 ones. I just wanted to know if an express pass could be optained at the gate. 56.00 to upgrade to express seems a little excessive. I checked Universal's website but it didn't say anything about purchasing just an express pass. I'm curious to know if anyone went up to the gate and asked to upgrade to an express pass.DJMPJ seemed to answer my question Thanks! ~. KBK did you just get an express pass or did you purchase the whole ticket? I'm sure they go hand in hand...
I could purchase the ticket on my own and get my own taxi but with my luck the taxi would break down on the way back!
