Booking at the port.

Was looking into to going to either Bannister , Caye Caulker or some nice beach. Was wondering if anyone has seen or booked one as you get off the tender. I know there are companies you can pre-book to some places but if the weather would be bad and I have heard it can choppy to get in and they may hold us up. Just weighing my options and hoping someone has some input. Thanks. :)

There will be some tours to book at the pier, when you get off of the tenders but I don't remember seeing tours to Bannister Island. Maybe someone else can answer that one but the only tours I remember for Bannister are either with the ship or booking in advance with Coral Breezes. As for Caye Caulker, I dont remember seeing this or every reading about being able to book on the spot. The thing is, it is about a 45 minute to one hour boat ride to Caye Caulker and not worth the cost in fuel if there wasn't a "full boat". I have even read tours being canceled with Coral Breeze because not enought signed up. We did Caye Caulker on our own but I wouldn't do it again.

There will probably be cave tubing tours and things on the mainland that requires a bus. I can remember people yelling out and holding a binder with pictures of their tour in it. It was rather chaotic and crowded. It is probably best to have a tour booked in advance in Belize or, check the extended forecast a few days out and book just before leaving.

We booked Goff's Cay through island Marketing at the Tourism Village for $40 per person (note: bring cash, the credit card exchange rate stinks + they charge a fee). There will be a few vendors near the restaurant at the far end of the pier. It's a good idea to have an idea of what you want and whom you wish to get it from (i.e. I remember seeing Coral Breezes too, I'm sure there were more)...this will help you get what you want. I think most of the vendors will be there trying to fill their boats/tours...you should be able to get what you want.

Goff's Cay is about a 30 minute boat ride and well worth it, imo.

That is what I was wanting to hear about , the ship used to have one to there but its not showing up. , $40 sounds cheap enough.

Thanks.
