mastrip Posted November 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2011 Does anyone know if the cruise port in Venice offers luggage storage? I booked a hotel near the airport for an early morning flight the day after we disembark. I would like to store my luggage for the day after disembarking to sight see and pick it up in the evening to take transportation to the Marriott near the airport. Also, if there is storage, what is the best transportation to take from the cruise port to the airport area? Thanks for your help!
Rare Hlitner Posted November 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2011 There is a luggage storage location in the Piazale Roma. So you could go over there by the People Mover (assuming you can handle your luggage) or get a land taxi (they often overcharge for the very short ride) and leave your luggage. Here is a link to info and you should click on "services," http://www.trasbagagli.it/en/index.shtml?about Hank
mapleleaves Posted November 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2011 There is storage at the pier but the hours are limited and vary depending on which ships are in port, so your best bet would be to use the Left Luggage facility at Piazzale Roma. PRoma would be very convenient since this is where you get transportation to the airport. PRoma is as far as all cars, buses, can go in Venice. It's also next to the Grand Canal so convenient for hopping on a vaporetto. Info in this link: http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/arriving_in_venice.htm If you can manage your luggage easily you can take the PeopleMover from the pier to Piazzale Roma (1 E, 3 minute ride) otherwise take a taxi. Does the Marriott offer a free shuttle to/from the airport? If so, you could take the ATVO airport express bus to the airport 5E for 20 minute ride, then call the marriott. Otherwise you could take a taxi from Piazzale Roma directly to the hotel for about 45E.
