meet & greet

I e-mailed Carnival with this same question. Here's the reply I got. Needless to say it wasn't at all helpful for what I wanted to know.

Karen, below I provided the get-together's available aboard the vessel. The 'Fun Times' newsletter offers an at-a-glance overview of the day's events, including activity and entertainment options, dining choices, and more. 'Fun Times' is delivered to each stateroom, each evening, for the following days scheduled activities.

Get-Together with Fellow Guests

  • Friends of Bill W. (Alcoholic's Anonymous Meeting)
  • Friends of Jimmy K. (Narcotic's Anonymous Meeting)
  • Friends of Dorothy (GLBT Meeting)
  • Card Players meet and play
  • Singles Meet and Greet

Thank you for choosing Carnival.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

This is what I know so far.. Contact Carnival Special event Dept.(1-800-438-6744 Ext 70006).

Get and approx. Number of people attending so they can get you the right size venue...

Set the date you want.. and then decide what kind of M&G you would like.. We are doing a 2 hour open bar with dry snacks( gold fish and spicy crackers, but we are going to try and steal the pizza guy too;))It is 17.00 pp and add 17% grats as well.. so around $20 pp....There is many options to choose from so ask the person you talk to , to send you all different packages from 1 hour open bar to private party wine tastings..

So here is where my Breezer's are at.. We are starting a head count and name list.. I have not set a deadline for money to be sent yet but will in the new year.. CCL will come to your event and do a head count and bill your S&S card for the amount there.. (make sure you count the non drinkers seperate as the price is less for them)Once I have a fairly good idea that we are not going to get any more people sign up for it then I will set the deadline for payment .. and that is it.. a deadline.. if you are not on the list by that date you are not getting in the door..( I don't want to get stuck footing the bill for people that just decided to pop in)..Be firm!!!

We are actually get some silent auction prizes and also having a 50/50 draw for ours with the proceeds going to the servers for their hard work.... I hope this helps you a bit.. if you need more info I check here ona daily basis to keep up on our roll call.. good luck .. it is so worth it!!!

If I'm reading this right, Carnival doesn't do a Meet & Greet like Princess or a Meet & Mingle like Royal Caribbean? I haven't ever been on a Carnival roll call that had any activity, but I assumed those with a lot of members would have a Carnival gathering for just the CC please who enrolled. No open bar, but a bartender and some snacks. My last one on RCCL we had juice and coffee, canapes, and the Asst Cruise Director gave away a bunch of

door prizes....best one was an umbrella.

Our Freedom roll call set up a meet and greet at the casino bar on embarkation day. This worked well for those who couldn't make it to the pre-cruise dinner the night before or the cocktail party we had. I did plan a cocktail party for our group of 36 as well. It was $11.44 per person which included the required gratuity. The groups event coordinator sets this up. You need to have a couple times and locations in mind in the event that there's already an event booked for that location/time. One person needs to collect all of the payments in advance. I had the checks all mailed to me and the cocktail party was billed to my credit card when it was set up. We had 4 additional guests added to the count after I had made payment so I contacted the group coordinator and paid for them the day before we left for the cruise. It really isn't complicated and was a lot of fun.

I literally just got done dealing with this situation this morning !

So here goes ... Call the # 800-327-5782 and ask for the group department ... granted they handed me off once because the person I spoke to wasn't sure .

however they finally got me to a person whom has set up a area in the Ivory Piano Lounge on the Carnival Pride on the second sailing day a official Meet & Greet ... granted they limited it to just a area ... nothing else provided as of yet , however from there I was given John Healds Blog and was told to post something there and ask him for further information , don't expect a reply any time soon ... ;) however they did accommodate us a area , if you like I can post the letter they sent me !

On Valor the CC M&G was listed in the Funtimes already and nobody from our Roll Call had requested one.

Of course since we did not know about it until after the fact we did not go.

To my understanding the ship has them set up but the times are never good enough for the roll calls. The roll calls seem to want it when and where they want them.
