I read here about paying for chairs and it said 10 Euros. Will they accept american also? And does anyone know how much the chairs and umbrella would be at either spot?

Yes, they will take US Dollars anywhere on the island. The exchange rate can vary from very very good (some restaurants will actually take dollars 1 for 1 with Euros) to very bad exchange rates. Most of the time the exchange rates are fair.

Dawn Beach is on the Dutch side of the island and they are not using euros so everything will be in US dollars there.
