Beverage Questions

So I've seen people say they just bring a case of soda on board with them instead of purchasing the beverage card but the q & a says no beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) are allowed. So are you just packing the case in your bag and hoping they don't catch it. Not so concerned about soda but I wanted to bring maybe some capri suns for my 3 year olds. They don't drink soda and I can't see paying for a juice package for 3 year olds who will only take a few sips and abandon it. But I also don't want to get in trouble

Next Question:

What do little people drink when it is not meal time. Like if we are at the pool is there anything other than water available for free to them and where is it available or do we just pay for a drink from the bar?

The Windjammer has free juice in the mornings, and ice tea and lemonade during the rest of the day. I've also seen fruit punch available sometimes too. You can bring a glass with lid from home and refill it for them, or you can use the regular plastic glasses they have there.

Even though the policy says alcoholic AND non alcoholic beverages not permitted to be brought on board, they are mostly concerned with the alcohol.

I dont think you will have any problem brining a reasonable quantity of non alcoholic beverages on board. Even if they dont allow it for whatever reason, its not like you are going to "get in trouble"

On Serenade out of San Juan this past March, we put those yogurt smoothies & a bottle of mangosteen juice in two of our suitcases. We thought we would get our luggage in plenty of time to put the yogurt in the fridge. However, we were missing our two bags. Though I have NEVER been called to the "naughty room" before, I had a feeling!

After asking everyone we could about our luggage being missing, we were finally told to go down to deck 2. It was really quite a funny situation. I joked with the two crew members holding our bags that they should probably do a body cavity search on my husband! Just in case! The rest of the cruise they picked on us by asking if we were sure we didn't carry anything onboard from the ports. It was fun. They were very nice. I'm sure a lot of folks get ugly with them.

The yogurt didn't make it. We felt 6 hours out of the fridge was more than we were willing to try! Funny thing was, the six packs of soda we stashed in the other suitcase made it to us with no problems whatsoever. I guess it's the luck of the draw on this one.

I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time but this is hilarious. I think my 3 year olds would love to see mom and dad get a spanking. I guess we only lose $2 if we try and get caught.

The Windjammer buffet is usually on the Lido deck, the same as the pool. The Windjammer uses plastic glasses so you can take it with you outside to the pool. You can also order (and pay for) soft drinks, juices, and booze from the waiters that seem to be constantly walking by. If you have kids, you should decide in advance if they will have signing privileges so they can make purchases on their own. (Somehow I doubt your 3-year-old will have signing privileges. ;)) Ships do not use cash (except the casino and maybe the arcade). You can get tap water for free at the bar or even from a waiter (though a small tip to the waiter seems appropriate in this case).
