Barbados to Offer Free, Island-Wide Wi-Fi Access

Barbados will offer island-wide, free wireless Internet access beginning Nov. 11, according to the Barbados Tourism Authority. The free Wi-Fi is part of an initiative to “expand technology to the locals, boost entrepreneurship and create a better tourism product,” according to a Tourism Authority statement.

The project, named 11.11.11 ON, was initiated by the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation and relies on local businesses to open their networks to guests. For more information on the project, visit http://www.barbadosentrepreneurshipfoundation.org. For more on Barbados, call 800-221-9831 or visit http://www.visitbarbados.org.
