Hi,

Booked for July 2, 2012. I have been on Royal C Serenade in the past and they had a nice cigar room.I was wondering if anyone saw something like this on Glory? I'm very careful not to smoke near others, just looking for some advise.

Thanks!

Bud

I thought they had banned smoking on the ships?

Not all ships..from carnival faq:

What is the smoking policy?

Effective June 15, 2011, cigarette smoking in public venues will only be permitted in Carnival’s dance clubs as well as in designated areas within the casino and casino bar.

Smoking (including cigars) will be permitted in designated exterior open deck areas (starboard side) of all our ships. Additionally, smoking will also be allowed in the jazz clubs of the following ships: Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor.

* All Spa suites and staterooms, inclusive of the balconies, are an entirely smoke-free environment.

* Effective December 1, 2011, smoking will be prohibited in all guest staterooms. Guests in balcony staterooms may smoke (including cigars) outside on their balcony.

Guests who smoke in their staterooms will be assessed a $250 cleaning and refreshing fee on their Sail & Sign account. Information on this fee is included in Carnival’s ticket contract.

Note: Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only allowed in the designated smoking areas.

I'm very aware of others that dont like the smell. I would never want to offend anyone. I thought the cigar room on Serenade was a great idea. I dont think I would even smoke on deck as the smoke travels.

Thank you for your response.

  • 2 months later...

While we were on the Glory, my husband was allowed to smoke with the cigarette smokers in the Sports Bar. He was very happy. The Glory, however, has a Cigar bar. I was not a fan of it. No tv's and the wood kept the place dark.

Now on the Valor, he couldn't smoke his cigars in the Sports Bar. So, I would accompany him to the Cigar Bar, which is also dark and dreary. No tv's, almost always empty during the day. A lot of times there was no one working at the bar. Only open at specific hours. Had more action at night with a piano and live music.

Needless to say, my husband enjoyed his cigars more on the Glory.

And, cigars are not sold in the Cigar Bar. They are sold in the store on the Promenade Deck, along with the other duty free items. I don't remember the price, but keep in mind cruise ship prices are higher. My hubby has a portable humidor and always brings his cigars from home.

Keep in mind this was before the smoking changes.

Enjoy your cruise.;)

Howdy Bigbudman: You are fortunate, there is a cigar lounge on the Carnival Glory. Have a good cruise.
