wine package, when to buy

is it best to wait and buy onboard, like at first nights dinner, or before boarding online?

We always order wine package and pay tips along with any other expenses we can do upfront just to have the basics taken care of. When we are on board we only have to pay for drinks, casino and little incidentals. With the tips we also go a little over if service for one was really outstanding and give more on the last night. It leaves more money for me to play with and doesn't interfere with our budget as much. The wine package costs the same no matter when you order it, but it's nice for it to be there on your first night.

 

IMO the least amount of planning and arranging after you are on board the more fun you will have from the start.

But if I buy now, it won't be deducted from onboard credit, is tat right?

That's right. That's why we usually wait to buy it when we get onboard. The same thing with dining at Chops or Portofino.

 

I'd rather use my OBC for "important" things like those above, lol. Enjoy!

There's no advantage to ordering before you board....except you will pay in advance. They don't "run out" of wine!
