How do we access Cabbage Beach?

We may like to spend some time on the beach after walking around Atlantis. Where would we need to go to access Cabbage Beach? Is there a public walkway? Also, what types of services are offered to cruise passengers just visiting for the day? Restrooms in particular. Thank you! :)

There are no facilities on Cabbage Beach other than those attached to the exclusive hotels nearby. (Exclusive meaning you can't use them).

To access Cabbage Beach, exit Atlantis Coral or Beach Towers and walk left past the RIU hotel. There's a public pathway which takes you over the dunes to the beach. Chairs for rent from independent vendors - I think they are $10ea.

All Beaches in the bahamas are public beaches, so yes, you can stroll along the beach in either direction. But you can't use the lounger at the hotels along the way.

Some lifeguards may try and stop you, but as long as you are along the water line, they have no right to say anything to you.

As for getting to Cabbage Beach for the pier, you can either grab a cab and have him take you to the entry point next to the RIU,(about $8 for 2 ppl + tip) or you can take the ferry boats from the dock nearby for $3ea, which drops you off at the Paradise Island Dock. THe beach entrance is about a 10 minute walk up casino drive. There are plenty of people to ask for directions should you become confused. Just head up past the Atlantis and past the RIU Hotel and enter at the sign. You'll cross the dune and down the other side to the beach. (there's souvenier shops, liquor store and a deli on the walkway up to the beach if you want to just wander along).

Have fun!

How do you get there from the pier?

Just made this trek on foot myself last week. The walk is not that far but it is a bit confusing. You stay to the right out of the dock area to get around a rotary and you have to cross a couple of major streets. Just keep heading towards the RIU hotel (you can see it as you walk). There were a lot of people walking that way when we were there so we just followed the crowd. Your best bet is to get a map before you get on the water taxi (they have lots of them at the port building in Nassau harbor). As Scubagirl said, stay on Casino Drive. The beach is very nice so it's worth the trip. Keep an eye out for the vendor carrying the coconut drinks on his head! :)
