Renovation of NYC Pier

Yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg announced an agreement between the city and two major cruise lines (NCL and Carnival) to finance the renovation of NYC's passenger ship terminal and the creation of a new cruise pier in Brooklyn.

 

This is welcome news. Unfortunately, it will be a while before cruise passengers reap the rewards of this development.

It's really way past due... the NY pier hasn't been touched in almost 30 years... and it shows.

I heard that they will have separate areas for embarking and disembarking. That sounds like a good idea.
