Caribbean Princess / Aloha Deck

Hi All, Next fall I will be taking my first cruise to Canada/New England. Just wondering if anyone has sailed on the Caribbean Princess & stayed on the Aloha Deck. Wondering how Room A602 is? Also, Please advise Pros & Cons of this ship

Hello lilmunchkin - Welcome to Cruise Critic and to Princess for your first cruise. Our first cruise was on Dawn Princess in 2003 and we have cruised with Princess many times after that including twice on Caribbean Princess - once to Canada/NE and once to Bermuda and the caribbean. We love Princess and Caribbean Princess.

Although we have not been on Aloha Deck, I think you will be very happy with your cabin. You will be a little aft of midship and you will have cabins above and below you (that means no pool deck or nightclub noise to worry about).

Hopefully someone who has stayed in A602 will respond with more detailed information. Have a wonderful 1st cruise. If you are like us you will be back for more;).

Hi; We stayed in A722, just a little further back than your location.

If you want to see photos of the cabin, balcony and a view of the side of the ship from the balcony you can go to my blog: Click Here The photos are all 3D so you might want to take the tutorial on how to view them and it is located here: Click Here.

I also have an interactive deck plan of the Caribbean Princess with panorama photos of all the public rooms. Click Here It is fairly large file so takes some time to load before you can view it.

I hope all this helps and if you have any questions please let me know.

By the way: Pros? Absolutely everything. This Cabin was great!!

Cons? It isn't a suite, other than that there are none, in our opinion.

Thank you so much Seadrifter & Wilfro (thanks for the pictures.. very nice)!!! I appreciate you responding to me. I'm so looking forward to this trip.

Any other information someone would like to share will be greatly appreciated. I'm celebrating my Mom's 80th B-Day & would like to make it really special for her. :D

We went to Canada/New England this summer. I don't know which itinerary you are doing, but it was really fun. Halifax was terrific and you should go up to the Citadel, but given your Mom's age, unless she is in really great shape (for her age), I wouldn't recommend walking. There is a nice walk along the waterfront in Halifax, too. PEI was interesting, especially the Canadian history stuff. The other port we really enjoyed was Bar Harbor, a quaint town. There is a specialty dog store on the main drag there if you are into that sort of thing. Picked up a couple of neat gifts in it. Boston, of course, but I guess everyone knows about the Freedom Trail.

You will have a super time. Make sure you get to all shows early. The CB has too few seats in the theater and you don't want to be shut out. Also, try Vines.

We were on the 10/29 Repo cruise on the Caribbean Princess. We were in stateroom A325 and loved the location. Even though, we were more mid ship than you were, we were right in the middle between two sets of elevators and only two floors from the Lido deck. When ever, we wanted to go to the Lido Deck, we always took the stairs.

This is an absolutely wonderful way to celebrate your mother's birthday. In 2005 we were fortunate to cruise the Baltic with my mother who was also 80 at the time. It was her first cruise and will always be a special memory for all of us.

I think that Princess offers a great product at a reasonable price. Go with a positive attitude and you will have a wonderful memory too.

We were on Aloha deck (A318) for our CB sailing in August. It was a really good location. We have previously stayed on Riviera deck (on P and O Ventura, but still the same ship design) and found it very noisy with the moving of the sunbeds in the morning.

Exactly why we like to have cabins above our cabin:D.

We've sailed on Princess several times and really liked the Caribbean Princess -- the best part -- the staff. They really seemed to go out of their way to help you on that ship.

We did stay on the Aloha deck -- inside midship -- think it is A525. We wouldn't choose that room again as there are no rooms directly above it -- found out their was a large air vent above -- and it was noisy. There was also a pipe behind our headboard with a filling valve for the pool / hot tubs. They did change their schedule for filling the pools -- which wasn't even requested. They also came right out to offer us a small compensation for our trouble -- which was an unexpected surprise.

The food was really good as was the entertainment. We spent quite a bit of time in the casino and actually had some luck here and there. Overall, it was a great cruise. We really loved the itinerary -- even though we have done it before.

In Halifax, we went to the Titanic Museum (not on the tour -- you can walk to it from the ship and buy exactly the entrance fee you are interested in) -- I think it was under $10 pp with our AAA card discount. We also walked down to the casino at the end of the Harborwalk and then sampled some beer at the brewery close to the pier.

In PEI, we went to the Gahan House -- fabulous little spot for lunch or a beer. Danny, the bartender was great. We ended up getting both the lunch and the beer at the bar, so stayed much longer than we thought we would....met a great couple from Sydney --so got involved in a great conversation -- had a great time there. We also toured the legislative house and learned a bit about the history of the Maritimes -- very interesting. There is no charge for this but a place to make a small donation.

In Bar Harbor, we went up to Acadia National Park through Ollie's Trolley-- again, not one of the ship tours but bought our tickets at one of the visitor's centers. We also walked along the shore along a nicely paved path -- easy walk even though it was windier than ever. We ate the absolute best lobster roll in the world at one of the restaurants right near the tender dock. You will know the place, there will be a line -- and the smell of blueberry pie.

In Boston, we did take one of the ship's tours (by land and sea-- well, inner harbor)--by far, one of the best tours ever -- I highly recommend it.

We were tired so stayed onboard in Newport but last time out, did the cliff walk and saw the Breakers from the back as well as some of the other fabulous mansions.

Ah, but I digress....the Aloha deck is ok -- but do like the Caribe better. It was particularly cold during our cruise so found we were usually going downstairs more so than upstairs. Would have been a little better to be located on deck 9 or 10 instead of 12. Just a personal choice, though.

I got married on the Caribbean Princess when it sailed in the Caribbean in 2008! We had also sailed on it for a family cruise in 2007. Loved the ship because there was so much to do. I have sailed on smaller ships and sometimes they were a little too quiet!
