lovcruzing Posted November 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2011 Can anyone report on their winning bids? I've been bidding for over a month now at a high of $75 and all rejected for January
Normal 1 Posted November 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2011 You don't say what weekend but I plugged in Saturday, January 14 on a different site (lastminutetravel.com) and see a 4.5 star in the warehouse district for $63/night. This location is the Hilton Riverside (across the street from Harrah's). I know this because I got this for my upcoming trip in December AND if you look at the photos for this hotel, one is of the bar/grill called Churchill's which is in the Hilton. Beware....parking at Hilton is $30+ per night.... I made parking reservations at Fulton Place parking for $12/day and will park there while at the hotel AND on the cruise. Once we get to NOLA, we can use public transportation. Not priceline but hope this information helps you.
Lynda59 Posted November 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2011 You did not give dates for your visit. Keep in mind that New Orleans has both the Sugar Bowl on 1/3 and the BCS Championship on 1/9. Rooms will be hard to come by during this time, so you will not see bargains on Priceline and other sites.
lovcruzing Posted November 19, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted November 19, 2011 Thank you, the dates are the Jan 12 to 14. So they should be more reasonable.
Rare silentbob007 Posted November 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2011 Do you already have another reservation that you can later cancel? I'd book something now with a cancelable rate, then keep up the Priceline bidding. You might also try to see if you can book rooms at the downtown hotels ... if they are sold out, there might be a conference or something going on in town and they will never show up on Priceline. I had been rejected a few months ago, but today won for 12/30 with a $70 bid ... 4*, Downtown, JW Marriott.
iluvcruzin Posted November 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Just be patient. I landed the 4* Intercontiental DT for $55 per night for 11/24 2 nights. This was about a month ago.

After a couple tries at Priceline, we checked out LastMinuteTravel.com. In the New Orleans Warehouse District there is still the 4.5 star hotel listed at $63/night, for 1/13/12. After some snooping, have confirmed that it is the Hilton Riverside. We called the number listed on the website at LastMinuteTravel, offering for an even better deal, where they confirmed that the hotel was in fact the Hilton Riverside and have confirmed a booking for us at 54.85/night, plus $12 tax. Pretty good deal! Thanks for your assistance and suggestions! Happy Cruisin' everyone!

Is there a website that lists dates of NO events that would make hotel rooms hard to come by or snarl traffic?
