Grenada Shopping Hours: Really?

A couple of Grenada websites list usual business hours in St George's as 8-4 weekdays and 8-12 Saturday. As our ship does not even arrive until noon on a Saturday and I'm taking an excursion to Grand Etang not due back until 430, am I pretty much out of luck? I was looking forward to spending a couple of hours walking and shopping in St George's prior to our ship sailing at 7.

The ones near the cruise dock will be open past 4, but the ones in town and on the Carenage do close at 4, I think. I remember being surprised, because I barely made it to one store before they closed.
