We scratched our original plans and eloped 3 weeks ago onboard a ship. It was perfect! My question is, is it ok to have a cocktail reception/celebration...nothing crazy, just about 40 people. And what is tne time frame we should do this in?.. Thsnks

Of course! Your family will still want to celebrate with you! Though I'd recommend doing it within 3-6 months since a year feels a little too long, but if scheduling won't allow it I guess a year would be OK. I just feel like people will know you as a married couple and the celebratory feeling of it may have worn off a bit by then.
