Reservation for MDR on the Spirit

Can previous cruisers answer?

On the Spirit, can a small party reserve a table for dinner? On the Jade we were told that reservations in the MDR were fondly available or 6 plus.

Also, our Spirit cruise is sold out in many categories, can anyone tell me if a sold out cruise means a wait time in the MDR's without a reservation?

Thanks so much for your help!

We are leaving again on the Spirit in a few more days!! We have never sailed on her when she was not sold out. Wait times for the MDR have never been more than 2-3 minutes. Reservations in the MDR are usually for parties of 8+. There are signs throughout the ship showing wait times for each dining venue. Look at those and you will have a good idea of what to expect.

Immediately after a show can be a bit of a pain, but still not bad.

Last week on our cruise the Spirit was sold out. We made reservations in the MDR twice. There really was no need to do this other then they granted our table position. Our first seating at 6pm was at the amazing aft, for a table for 2. Our second was at 7pm on the side window for a table for 2. The MDR seemed about half full. We went a third time and didn't ask for a reservation, and got the same window table.

We just got off the Pearl last Sunday. I asked if we could make a reservation for dinner for our party of eight, and the hostess said, No just come down when you're all ready. We never had to wait to be seated, but you always have to go through the line-up first. The longest line-up was at 5:30, as a lot of people were there waiting for the dining room to open.

Our first night in the Garden MDR, we had an amazing waiter. We thought about making reservations for the whole week just with him, but unfortunately didn't follow through with even asking.

Is that possible? Making a reservation with a certain waiter?
