Hotel or B&B in Livorno?

We are leaving on a cruise from Livorno on a Sunday next April, so would like to spend the previous night in Livorno so we have no last minute transportation concerns. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We stayed at the Max Hotel in June and were very pleased with it. It is clean, comfortable, modern and not expensive. It is near the railway station, and about 2-3 km from the port itself, so you would need a taxi the next morning.

Just another option ..

 

My choice would be to stay in Pisa or even Lucca for the night. Much more enjoyable towns, imho and easy enough to get to the port from either (Pisa is closer). I'm sure you have thought of that though.

 

My suggestion is to look at the resorts and hotels north of Livorno. The address will be in Tirrenia Pisa or, further north, Marina di Pisa.
