TV Channels on the Jewel 12/10/11

Does anybody know if HBO is available on mini-suites TVs? I need to watch something on HBO Sunday night (12/11/11) :D

I don't believe HBO or any premium channels are available in cabins. However, if you must watch something, there is always slingbox, but that will be VERY expensive with internet charges onboard.

If you need to watch it, you need to record it at home. I don't think you're gonna see it on the ship.

I think I will have to wait until I get back. I found out that HBO has an On Demand feature. Don't know anybody with a DVR or TiVo. Oh well....I guess I should expand my circle of friends. :D

Just off the Gem 2 weeks ago. The TV channel selection in our mini-suite was crap. There were about 15 "ship" channels, a couple news channels, E!, and one channel that they played old sitcoms on 24/7.

We were on her in September. Not much in TV channels that's for sure. Mostly news programs, kiddie stuff, the same movie being played over and over and over and over.................

 

I realize that TV channels are not necessarily of utter importance, but some nights on board I've been up so many hours having fun I'm over tired and need the TV to relax and fall asleep to :D

Just a tip if you are in a suite. Bring a few of your favorite DVD's, as there is a player in the bedroom.

That was about it.

 

I was able to see Pirates of the Caribbean about every single time I turned on the TV though.

Just curious.....does anyone know if the tv program selection is as poor on other cruise ship lines.... I like to unwind, watch tv/take a nap inbetween excursions, dinner, etc.

I was on a b2b on Carnival (Dream) out of Orlando earlier this month. They had the worse tv selection I've seen on any cruise ship/hotel. They had a few news networks, but they were either in spanish or based in Buffalo. Strange, considering the ship is based all year in Florida.
