Help! Upgrade? Or not?

For our Dec 8th sailing on the Emerald Princess, we have been offered a move from a mid-ship mini-suite on Dolphin deck to a family suite on the same deck. Does anyone have any experience with the family suites? Is it a good upgrade? The downside for me is the front of the ship...am I going to be rocking and rolling? It's a 10 day cruise...so the suite amenities and big room are really tempting!

Help!

Yes, it's going to rock and roll more than a mid-ship cabin and it'll be windier. But for me, it would be no contest even though I really prefer being further back on the ship: I'd take the family suite. The amenities and space would be enough of a reason.

We were upgraded from two inside cabins to a family suite on an Alaska cruise and while it was "rocky and rollier" and windy (the balcony was virtually unusable), it was great to have all the space and all the perks. I would take another family suite upgrade in a heartbeat (complimentary internet, laundry, breakfast at sabatinis).

There is a reason it is called an upgrade. The "mini-suite" isn't really a suite at all, it is a larger balcony cabin when it comes right down to it.

There is a substantial downside to jumping from cabin to suite, you won't like going back. Smile and take it.
