Per Carnival FAQ page:

What is the smoking policy?

Effective June 15, 2011, cigarette smoking in public venues will only be permitted in Carnival’s dance clubs as well as in designated areas within the casino and casino bar.

Smoking (including cigars) will be permitted in designated exterior open deck areas (starboard side) of all our ships. Additionally, smoking will also be allowed in the jazz clubs of the following ships: Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor.

* All Spa suites and staterooms, inclusive of the balconies, are an entirely smoke-free environment.

* Effective December 1, 2011, smoking will be prohibited in all guest staterooms. Guests in balcony staterooms may smoke (including cigars) outside on their balcony.

Guests who smoke in their staterooms will be assessed a $250 cleaning and refreshing fee on their Sail & Sign account. Information on this fee is included in Carnival’s ticket contract.

Note: Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only allowed in the designated smoking areas.

For the Conquest class ships, it only applies to Liberty.

Somebody decided the condiments belonged in the smoking side of Lido (from the 2.0 upgrade). Forty people complained so they have made it temporarily non-smoking until they figure out a permanent solution. This is from JH.

JH is supposed to let us know what the beards have decided...when/if that ever happens. We all know how beards are.

It applies to all Carnival ships , smokers go to deck 10 ,away from food,

and not enclosed, Open deck

No, that is not correct.

From my understanding, all ships with the 2.0 upgrades (which so far includes only the Liberty) will restrict the Lido deck smoking to deck 10 in order to move smokers away from Guy's and The Blue Iguana. According to John Heald's latest info on this subject, they are considering relaxing this rule and allowing smokers back to the Lido once these 2 places have stopped serving food for the night. I believe he is expected to make an announcement about it "soon".

I did not see the casino rules listed. The smoking allowed section has been greatly reduced. You must be gambling to smoke in the casino.

The piano bars are now non-smoking.

The info posted from Carnival's website is correct (although deficient) as far as I know.

It is the Liberty not the Legend

I know. But in another post, someone said they read on the carnival board that the legend is also included. Which of course has people going on the legend soon, wondering.

I will just book and let it go. I spend most of my time in the casino anyways.

Thanks!

The are probably talking about the Serenity area which occupies the aft pool Lido area and is inexplicably non-smoking.
