Naomi John Posted December 6, 2011 Author #51 Share Posted December 6, 2011 But the fun times will have to wait until tomorrow. My scaning it going haywire.
Trin1103 Posted December 6, 2011 #52 Share Posted December 6, 2011 I will attempt to answer some questions first: This is how I learned ship speak. If you are facing forward, (toward the front of the ship), starboard is on your right and port is on your left, (port is four letters, left is four letters). IMHO, the best place to observe NOLA is from the Observation Deck above the bridge all the way forward, verandah deck, (one of those "secret door", places). Once you leave port and turn around, on your left will be NOLA, but there is some nice scenes on your right side as well. Up there you can walk from one side to the other and catch everything, as long as the sun stays up. Thanks so much for that info! I will try and hammer it into my brain, L-E-F-T-, P-O-R-T!!! I have heard a lot about the infamous secret doors on the Fantasy-class ships, but I've no idea where or how to find them LOL. Surprised though at the recommendation of Verandah deck for observing - I would have thought the higher the better (i.e. Sun Deck)!! What time did you guys actually weigh anchor and leave? Embarkation time for us is set as 4PM but I have heard some saying we won't be underway until 5PM. Either way - I am guessing that by the time we are actually moving it will be dark........so we won't have any sunsets to look forward to.......but will definitely have some spectacular lit-up downtown NOLA scenes which are are pumped about seeing!! ..Trin.. The "secret door" is on the Verandah deck all the way forward. It's just two decks below the Sun deck. As I said earlier, this ship was very punctual. We left right at 4PM. In fact, we were still at the safety drill when it started pulling away from the dock. I think its kinda funny that the Captain is rocking a mullet. LOL. Never thought of that. Naomi John Posted December 7, 2011 Author #58 Share Posted December 7, 2011 After trying differnet scans, I hope obtained enough of the Fun times for you. There are limits on the MB's for scans. Embarkation day I was able to scan all 6 pages. For the remaining days, I scanned the front and the little tear off section with times for almost everything. If you need a certain time of something opening ask. FYI - On embarkation day the casino openned at 4:30 PM. Naomi John Posted December 7, 2011 Author #59 Share Posted December 7, 2011 DH asked me to add something. He did the “Behind the Scenes” tour, with our companions. We both did this on the Triumph in April of 2010 on a 7 night cruise, been there done that, how mush different could it be? DH advised there were several differences. It was cheaper, ($55 pp instead of $85); it was shorter, (he said they did not see the brig or the morgue); and less goodies. During the Triumph tour, we saw the outside of the brig, (never saw a morgue, they have one, but they never showed it to us), had a group pic at the front of the ship and on the bridge, plus individual pictures with the Captain. For goodies, we received a wet bag, cap, soap, and lanyard, plus the pictures we took and Chocolate Strawberry’s in our stateroom upon return. (Double everything as two was booked). This time, they only took one group picture, he received another lanyard, and a sweet tray was in our stateroom, (two CCS, and some cookie type things). DH was a little disappointed as he bragged about this to our friends who had never been on the tour before. I’m logical. I told him it was $30 cheaper, they still saw interesting areas of the ship, and received gifts. Seemed reasonable to me. And yes, the “young guy”, in the previous picture is the Captain: See, still sporting that Mullet. :-)
dwillis43 Posted December 7, 2011 #60 Share Posted December 7, 2011 Wife and I got off the Elation about three weeks ago and had a great time. Emilija Posted December 7, 2011 #61 Share Posted December 7, 2011 I only recently learned how to differentiate port and starboard. When facing the bow(front) port is on the left side, starboard on the right. Both port and left have four letters :)

Expelliarmus Posted December 29, 2011 #64 Share Posted December 29, 2011 Are the room pics at the start of the thread actually of V21 aboard the Elation? I know you said that you were booked for V21 aboard the other ship and that they transferred the booking over. I just wanted to verify whether that was actually V21 in the pictures as my wife and I are booked for V21 on Elation soon. Thanks. Great info and pics! Our room and booking transferred from Esctasy to Elation. Great room, and like I said, the obstructive part was not bad at all. Enjoy your trip!! Don't miss Towel Animal Theater!! navybaby1113 Posted January 2, 2012 #66 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Thanks for the review! That's crazy what happened at the chefs table. Good for you for getting security called. Some people shouldn't drink.
Naomi John Posted January 3, 2012 Author #67 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Thanks for the review! That's crazy what happened at the chefs table. Good for you for getting security called. Some people shouldn't drink. You are welcome. I am a sympathetic type, I feel bad about getting the couple removed, he was a Vet and probably had other "problems". I think the Chef was troubled as he had a choice: refund one couple or three, (plus one for the child). They made the right choice. His poor wife. Naomi John Posted January 11, 2012 Author #71 Share Posted January 11, 2012 I was wondering about Camp Carnival and the excursions they do with the kids, do you know anything about it? I have up loaded the Camp Schedule for our 5 day cruise. As you can see, there were no shore exursions offered for the 11 and under group. I have read Club 02 and Circle C do have group shore excursions, but do not have first hand knowledge, I've got 2 more year with Camp Carnival. Check or post in the Special Interest Family Boards. I know it is usually full of people traveling with Toddlers, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Camp Carnival.pdf
rcrx Posted January 11, 2012 #72 Share Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks for taking time to do a review. As others have stated, there aren't many out there on the Elation! We have been to Cozumel several times also, but this is the first time we are looking to do a all-inclusive beach day. Going back and forth between Nachi Cocum and Mr. Sancho's. We will have our 4 yr old son with us and just want a laid back beach day. I was wondering if you had ever been to Nachi Cocum, and if so, which would you suggest. Again, thanks for the great review!:) I have been to Nachi and would highly recommend. Great for adults and kids..no bouncy things though and pool was COLD in Jan..it was a great day with good food and drinks a plenty!
