Herfnerd Posted May 10, 2012 #26 Share Posted May 10, 2012 We used them in February. We used them for both ends of the trip. It was great and we didn't have any problems. It was nice being able to walk around NOLA and not have to worry about our luggage. It was a little difficult to find them because the baggage claim area is under construction. Also, the place you dropped it off was call Rush It courier service. Rush It and Advance Check-In are the same company. We had a late flight out of NOLA, so this let us enjoy our day without worrying about luggage. I knew we were going to use them ahead of time, but did not make any reservations with them. Just stopped by and dropped off our bags. The best part about using them on the front end of the trip was that once we claimed our bags and gave it to Advance Check-in we didn't have to worry or see our bags until we got to our room. Had an early flight into NOLA so we just had a cab drop us off at Cafe DuMonde and then leisurely walked to the cruise terminal. Easiest boarding ever, 20 minutes from the time we walked into terminal until we were on ship by 11:45! Glad to finally hear of someone using this service!! BTW - how long of a walk from Cafe Du Monde to the terminal?

Herfnerd Posted May 23, 2012 #29 Share Posted May 23, 2012 We used this outfit this past Saturday when we disembarked from the Elation and had five hours to kill in NOLA before our flight Once you exit Customs, you walk out of the terminal building and there are a few people standing there with signs for Advance Check In. We told them we wanted to use their service and they took us to their location right in the cruise terminal. $25 for 4 bags. They also had transportation available (KLM Transportation) at $14pp, which is cheaper than cab fare to MSY - they picked us up right outside of Cafe du Monde. Advance Check In/Rush It Courier are located between carousel 5 and 6 in baggage claim - KLM dropped us off right at the door right by their office. Would not hesitate using them again and highly recommend them
travelequalshappiness Posted February 12, 2015 #30 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I just discovered the Advance Check-In Luggage Service in New Orleans. Has anyone ever used this service before? You can drop off your luggage with them as soon as you claim it and they will deliever to the ship. Can do the same when leaving when leaving the ship. They have a representative outside the cruise terminal where you drop off your luggage and they take it to the airport. Thanks!@!@ Barbara I have to tell you that my parents had a terrible experience with this company. They were extremly unprofessional and unhelpful. They only have one job: take your bags from the airport to the cruise ship. You would think that since this is their one job they would know how to get it done. Instead, my parents, who entrusted their luggage (including important medical equipment) to these people, ended up on a one-week cruise sans any of their belongings. Once this massive mistake was made, you would think that this company would try their best to rectify this horrible situation. Not so. Advance Check-In became unresponsive. They stopped answering their phone and became impossible to get ahold of. When a connection was finally made, Advance Check-in said the bags were on a flight to Cusco, the cruise’s first stop. Having never received confirmation of a flight number of baggage claim number (remember the lack of communication here), my parents spent the entire day at the Cusco airport trying to track down their luggage. To make matters worse, this day was also my mother’s birthday. Finally, they were able to confirm that Advance Check-In never sent the bags. My parents were forced to run around and buy everything they would need for the rest of their vacation costing them hundreds of unnecessary dollars. Advance Check-In destroyed their much needed and well deserved vacation and they didn’t even care. They have refused to provide ANY reimbursement or compensation. What a horrible, horrible company. I implore you to never, ever use them.
