jbarr55 Posted December 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We have booked a last minute cruise leaving from Baltimore on New Years Eve, & are wondering what will go on that night to celebrate NYE. Will it be a formal night, even tho we don't sail away until 4pm? We are driving down from Toronto the day before & need to find a hotel where we can leave the car over the week. Also, we have not sailed with RCI for several years, and any advice or suggestions regarding the ship would be greatly appreciated! We have cabins 2130 & 2129. Thanks!! dramaqueen4lyfe Posted December 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We were on board En last NYE and had a lovely party in the Centrum. The had the whole orchestra there and did a whole Big Band concert. They had a count down at midnight with streamers and balloons and champagne and the Captain gave a New Year greeting. Lots of fun. jamespmc Posted December 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2011 We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, we got breakfast, they kept the car and transported us back and forth to the ship. It was cheaper then parking at the pier.

We decided that parking at the port is the best option so that we don't have to wait for a shuttle at the end of the cruise. Booked hotel via Priceline since we won't have time to really tour Baltimore at all. Got the Marriott in Hunt Valley for $50. Doesn't have the best reviews on Trip Advisor but it is only 1 night. We have not sailed on RCI since 2002 so can't much tell you what to expect. This is our first cruise out of Baltimore too as well as our first New Years cruise. I love the fact that we can drive under 10 hours to reach the cruise port.....hopefully the weather holds up. Last year we drove to Florida on the 14th of December and the first 2 hours of our drive took 4 hours and the drive home on the 25th was a nightmare. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this year! Only 23 days to embarkation.....can't wait.:D
jbarr55 Posted December 13, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted December 13, 2011 Hi Justcake! We have booked the cruise & stay package at the Holiday Inn Express, rate was $113 which includes breakfast, shuttle & parking. We plan to leave early on Dec30th, either to accomodate weather or get into Baltimore in time to see a bit of the city. Yes, we are going to sign up for the roll call for this cruise. Looking forward to meeting CC members, as everyone has always been helpful in the past. Hope to see you there, Jesse & Alison
Pumbaamd Posted December 13, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2011 The Comfort Suites BWI Airport has a shuttle that takes you to various area spots. Not sure if they'll take you to the pier. You can leave your car at the hotel for the airport shuttle. A phone call should answer any questions about the pier. R&D
