Lilly's Nana Posted April 10, 2005 #27 Share Posted April 10, 2005 Hello Radio. I have a couple of questions. Since you boarded before your cabin was ready, were you able to drop off your carry-on luggage in your cabin then go on your way exploying the ship. Which cabin are you in this time. Rare Radio Posted April 10, 2005 Author #28 Share Posted April 10, 2005 WoW ! I didn't think that this post would generate this much response ! I will try to answer as many questions that I can.... Where do I start...I will try to go over the ship, and not the ports of call as much. The ports have their own board and they are very good. Of course I will post some pics of a few of the ports.... I had to wait until 1pm until my cabin was ready until I could drop off my stuff I am in Cabin 7532 (D2). They had the fire doors closed. I will check with the Future Cruise Consultant about the itinerary change in June. We left promptly at 5:10 pm after the fantasy and Disney Wonder... I received my luggage at about 5:30 , as well as robes, and Diamond Ultimate Value Booklet. It looks like they changed the books to have Only The Navigator amd Mariner on the cover of the book...It must be due to Vintages coupons. Tonights show is the "Welcome Aboard Show" with T J McCormack, the Duo Ignatov group , and the RCI Singers and Dancers at 8pm. The first parade is also tonight. The "Island a Go Go Bon Voyage Parade" is always a hit. Todays free movies are "First Daughter" and "The Big Bounce". There is also 4 channels for foreign dubbing of a feature film. Stay tuned for more pics tonight....I promise ! I will be heading to the casino, the Welcome Aboard Show, then dinner. Thanks for tuning in... Radio ;) ;)
cruizinmimi Posted April 10, 2005 #29 Share Posted April 10, 2005 WOW! Radio, you're the best! Only 27 more days for us and we'll be back on the Navigator of the Seas Eastern side. winncove Posted April 10, 2005 #30 Share Posted April 10, 2005 Thx so much! We sailed the Mariner last Aug/Sept and loved it. Sailed the Glory for Valentine's and were not impressed @ all. Now I see why! I had forgotten how gorgeous & elegant the Mariner is. Guess we were so overwhelmed after not cruising for 23 yrs we just couldn't absorb it all. Going again Oct. 2nd and your pics have me so excited I can hardly stand the wait! Last yr. was the W. and this yr the E. route. Looking forward to your comments all wk. Only question @ this time is about the change in menus. They were wonderful then, so what's new? [Read your reports last yr. and have to say you do a great job w/that & wish our pics were 1/2 as good!]
sunpuppy Posted April 10, 2005 #31 Share Posted April 10, 2005 Hey Radio--thanks for giving us a glimpse of what we'll be enjoying soon! I'll be on the Mariner in 3 weeks. Here are my questions of the moment: 1. Who are the captain & cruise director, and will they be the same in 3 weeks? 2. Who is the pool band; are you enjoying them? 3. I enjoyed your daily posts on your previous cruise this year--are the menus the same for both itineraries? Would you be able to post them? I hope you have a much more enjoyable (and healthy!) cruise this time! Thank you and take care!

Adventure Girl Posted April 11, 2005 #34 Share Posted April 11, 2005 Radio! Hey, I can't believe you beat me back to the Mariner of the Seas! I'm returning in just 27 days....going back on the Mariner western itinerary the week of May 8th-15th. So glad to see you are posting LIVE again. You are a legend in your own time! Whoo Hoo! OK, I have a question for you....is the Island Band, Focus still on board? The band that plays by the pool during the afternoons? If they are still there, would you please ask if they will still be on board during the week of May 8th for me? I had a few conversations with Alex, the band leader/drummer and he had told me the band would be on the Mariner until maybe May. I'm just curious if they will still be there during the 2nd week in May. I know that you will be busy relaxing during the day, but if you think of it, I would appreciate your finding out if Focus is still on board. Thanks. I love their music! I'll be checking in during the week to see your fantastic photos and read the highlights! I can't wait to return myself!

Rare Radio Posted April 11, 2005 Author #36 Share Posted April 11, 2005 Adventure Girl... I will check for you on the pool band ! Nice to hear from you ! SunPuppy....I will check it out for you.... IvesGrandmama..I have 2 daughters.... The Welcome Aboard Show was very, very good (Except for the Comedian)...The Casino was very nice to me. But there was a problem at dinner....No one showed up at dinner, soooo....hmmm...I wasn't going to sit there by myself. So I went to the Windjammer. It was very good, and had a selection of all Dining Room Entree's. They set all tables with tablecloths, and silverware, with dim lites. There was alot of people in there..... Well ...here are a few pics. Check back tommorrow for more ! Radio ;) First the Fantasy left....... Then the Wonder Left...... The it was time for us to leave...Here's the world famous "Grills"..well almost world famous. My Cabin...7532

I hope the table fills up tomorrow. Another question for you....would you confirm for me that the two formal nights are still on Monday and Thursday? Are you on the Western route again? Thanks again! shaisnan Posted April 11, 2005 #39 Share Posted April 11, 2005 :D Hi Radio, I will be cruisin the Mariner on the 8th of May. This is my first cruise and so your pics and this thread are really helpful. I have a few questions maybe you could answer for me. I am traveling with my daughter and her new hubby (they are getting married on the 8th on Cocoa Beach before we board) and my new in laws. I will also have my granddaughter who is 6 with me. My question is about babysitting services available. Do they have babysitting services available in your stateroom in the evenings after adventure ocean closes? Is the babysitting service available on all evenings even the first and last night? Have a great time and I will be checking in on the pics.
ccrn Posted April 11, 2005 #40 Share Posted April 11, 2005 Thanks for sharing your pictures and experience Radio. I will be going on the Mariner in June with my family. I have a question about ship time versus island time, as I have booked excursions, not with the ship in Jamaica, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. Are all of those ports behind ship time an hour, or is it just Grand Cayman. Also see if yuo can find out about the kids program. My kids are 8, 8, and 10, and I am hoping they will love it. this is their first cruise and they are extremely excited. Have a great cruise Radio! I do miss Capatain Johnny, it is not the same without him. Captain Tor Olsen is pleasant enough...It's just not the same. shaisnan....MackMasterson was right, you must reserve a babysitter in advance. You should sign up for Adventure Ocean on the first night. ccrn...You should always stay on the ships time, no matter which port you are at. pmfan..The menus are not available for passengers...I would need one to scan for you. I will see if they let me have a few. We are 30 miles east of Cat Island, near Eleuthera. The air temp is 73f the water temp is 78f. I am off to lunch and the Meet and Mingle at 1pm.
