DeejayCruiser Posted December 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2011 I was wondering if Marina passengers in the lower cabins (B and below, with an official 3 pm boarding time) have experienced any delays in boarding at Miami when arriving for embarkation: a) at the scheduled 3 pm boarding time; and/or b) earlier, say 1 or 2 pm? Thank you in advance to all responders. Happy holidays to all.
no fuss travel Posted December 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2011 We arrived before 3 as the taxi ride did not take as long as we were told it would and had maybe a 10 minutes wait maximum. We did have to wait to get into our cabin but were able to eat in the Terrace restaurant which passed the time away quite nicely.

Thank you in advance to all responders. Happy holidays to all. Getting onto the ship earlier has become less of an issue, since the introduction of Marina. Before she came online, the "priority" reservations in the Specialty Restaurants came about because the Suite passengers got onto the ship first and therefore had first crack at them. Now, we can all do it online, well ahead of ever seeing the ship. :D
CintiPam Posted December 29, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2011 We boarded in Copenhagen in June around 3:10 PM and waited in the Lounge about one minute to check in! We dropped our carry-on bags in our lovely cabin (those floor to ceiling windows were wonderful!) and went for lunch in the Terrace Cafe, which stays open until 4 PM on embarkation day. BTW, our muster drill on Marina was very short; unlike our experiences on the smaller "R" ships, where we have stood outside in our hot lifevests for a bit, we never left our comfy seats in Martinis! ksps cruise fan Posted January 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2012 I was wondering if Marina passengers in the lower cabins (B and below, with an official 3 pm boarding time) have experienced any delays in boarding at Miami when arriving for embarkation: a) at the scheduled 3 pm boarding time; and/or b) earlier, say 1 or 2 pm? Thank you in advance to all responders. Happy holidays to all. Based on Marina Holiday cruise: Everyone is allowed on the ship well in advance of the 3:00 p.m. boarding time, but this does not include access to your cabin. Wander around. Eat at the terrace buffet. Sign up for spa treatments or other activities. As you do this, you'll keep hearing announcements giving suite cruisers, then concierge class cruisers, then stateroom cruisers (Level B and below) permission to go to their rooms. The Stateroom (Level B) announcement came promptly at 3:00 p.m. We arrived at the ship at approximately 1:00 p.m. and we faced lines of any consequence since the ship had been loading for a long time since there were lots of cruisers on board already.
