Silhouette flyer/help to identify stateroom category (with RCI comparison)

Hello All~~

DH and I are extremely familiar with Royal Caribbean. We have not yet sailed with Celebrity.

I received a simple but enticing flyer in the mail about Silhouette sailing 12-nighters to the Caribbean from Cape Liberty. The largest photo in this flyer features a stateroom that looks to me to be the size and layout of a Junior Suite on a Royal Caribbean ship. I hunted around the Celebrity website for a little bit, but couldn't find this photo.

I decided to post and ask you folks. The most distinct thing about this room is its width: it has a double sliding glass door, a little bit of wall and then another nice window, just like a Junior Suite. There looks to be about three feet of space between the foot of the bed and the vanity/desk. I bet this room has a bathroom with a tub.

This room would be just perfect for us--Can anyone tell me what category this is?

Thank you~~

Leslie

It's a Sky Suite.

We cruised on the Solstice for the first time a week ago, after four Royal Caribbean cruises, one of which was in a Junior Suite. We did not have a Sky Suite on Celebrity, but our roll call did a cabin crawl, and we visited one:

We loved our X cruise and definitely plan to cruise both lines in the future!

Hi LAKaye,

Here is the link to Celebrity's Website and the info on the Silhouette and its suites... The Sky Suite is the smallest of the bunch... coming in at aprox 300 Sq Feet.

*NOTE - The layout of a Suite may depend on WHERE it is located on the ship.

Hope this is helpful,

Cheers!

Keep in mind there are two types of Sky Suites, S1's and S2's. S1's are a lot nicer. an S2 is like a normal stateroom, but wider and with a bathtub. S1's are a bit of a funky shape, but give you another 60 square feet or so additional room than an S2 (interior) AND have a significantly larger balcony than S2's AND have a large porthole window in addition to the sliding glass door to the balcony. One oddity about the S1's is they have one to two poles in the room (support beams); some find this odd, some find that they add character to the room. This description applies to the S Class ships (Solstice, Eclipse, Equinox, Silhouette and Reflection).

Here are some S1 photos from the Equinox:

Hey--you all are the best. Thank you so much for the identification of the Sky Suite and the photos and the explanation of the existence of the different kinds of Sky Suites.

Mystery solved! I am very grateful to you.
