Another Alcohol Question

I am thinking about purchasing a bottle of vodka from Bon Voyage for our upcoming cruise. I plan on carrying on tonic, but what about limes? Can I order them from room service?

I would expect so, or the bar staff. I might go in person to one of the bars and explain. That way you will get them sliced properly.

You can get a glassful from a friendly bartender and keep it in your fridge.

Ok I am having a hard time finding Alcohol other than wine on Bon Voyage on the Carnival site in my booking page. How do I find it?

You have to call them directly and order over the phone, you can't order alcohol on-line.

Bon Voyage 800-522-7648 ~You have to call to order~not available Online! Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST

They may have other choices, so if you don’t see something you like, ASK

Most bottles are 1 liter in size. Prices may vary & do not include tax.

If you want a receipt you need to ask them to email you one.

Wow! $40 for skky 1 liter... I understand mark up but I can get a 1.75 here for $26.

And do you have balconies on your cruise ship in Oklahoma? You're missing the point comparing the prices back home. Instead, consider how many shots/drinks you'll get out if a bottle compared to buying all those shots/drinks individually aboard the ship.

No Not missing the point.... What i heard was 10-15 more a bottle not 100% or more. I will take my chances with other plans.

DMBPICKLE

If you pay 26 at home and you HEARD it is 10 -15 more that would make it 36-41. Bon Voyage 40.00 I know it is a 1.5 compared to a 1 liter as you stated , but is it worth the hassle if you get it confiscated for the difference.

Look at the big picture if you are Not successful in the other way what you do have is a bigger bar bill.

32 shots @ app. 6.00 =192.00

I'll take their markup to Save 152.00

To me not worth the HASSLE packing it and getting it from point A-B.

That's called "profit". Your liquor store doesn't have a staff of 2000 and float while doing 22 knots. $40 is a really good deal if you give it a little thought. Think of the extra $14 as a corkage fee. Very reasonable.

Just for comparison, how much is the same $40 BV bottle in the ships duty free shop.

It is supposed to be lower than retail shops on land right?

I know you can't use the duty free bottles on board so, just curious about the price.

Not sure about that specific brand. an example I saw was Crown Royal; $listed at BV for $55, duty-free was 2 for $36. However, I don't know the size of that bottle. It was the classic look that comes boxed with the Crown bottle in the drawstring bag. I'm not a big drinker but, the duty-free prices are very enticing. It helps to know what it costs back home so you are getting the maximum value. Back on thread, an occasional beer will do it for me on a cruise. That said, I think a bottle from BV would be a good deal for most people. Those bar bills can bite ya.

One way of doing it, quite legitimately, is if you are doing a cruise back to back, as I will be in a year and a bit, and they let you leave your stuff on board at the changeover port. They will probably automatically deliver anything you buy on board to your cabin the final night of the first leg ...

If you are traveling on b2b cruises - we purchased 2 bottles of vodak the night before returning to Fla from the ship's store - later the better in the PM - and the booze was given to us right then and there. we carried it back to our cabin and thus had 2 bottles of vodak for the second cruise.:)
