suying Posted December 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2011 I need some advice to choose Caribbean cruise between ruby princess and Caribbean princess. Both sail at April 8th. Caribbean sails from san juan and Ruby from fort Lauderdale. I have two kids at age of 3 and 8. Both kids love swimming pool activity. Does anyone know if lido outdoor pool’s water temp will be warm enough to swim comfortable in early April on ruby princess? And do you think which ship has better food and service? Any advice will be appreciated.

Liz54 Posted December 29, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2011 If you are on mainland US I would go with Ruby and save the extra expenxe of flying to San Juan. The pools will be great!
cb at sea Posted December 29, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2011 You yes....totally swimmable!!!! And, the deck gets HOT....burning hot...make sure the kiddies (and you!) have shoes/flip-flops for walking between pool and chair!
gerryl12 Posted December 29, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2011 The water in the pool should be nice and warm in the Caribbean any time of year.
argenta01 Posted December 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2011 I think the Ruby is slightly nicer than the Caribbean. It should certainly be cheaper and easier to fly to FLL than SJU. Boarding is easier in FLL than SJU also. Both will be warm enough for swiming.
Pam in CA Posted December 30, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2011 Just an FYI, your 3YO must be 100% potty-trained to use the pool; no swim diapers. Same for the Youth Center. The two ships will probably have the same menus and buffet items. They are stocked identically. The main difference will be the Chef and prep as each prepares the same dish a little differently.
