returned from sovereign 4/8-4/11

Recommended Posts

Been on her 4 times previously and the improvements are noticeable as you walk on the ship!new carpets brighter ship.staff was awesome!food was great improved alot.everyone person who worked on the ship that we dealt with was couteous and respectful.when we arrived at port on friday must have been 200 people waiting(went quickly)but we are C&R Diamond and went to the front and was on in our room in under 10 minutes. The only slight problem was a faint sewer smell in the bathroom in our cabin but this was only when we were in port when we were sailing no problem.we let rhonda our cabin attendent know and she sprayed extra bleach in all drains whenwe were gone for the day.Coco Cay was opened was there all day and was awesome!clear skies ,warm water great drinks alot of fun!The barbeque was very tatsy(some people who werent thinking started to feed the seagulls BIG MISTAKE!RATS WITH WINGS)every evening in the dinning room was enjoyable and fun.the new lounges are the same old ones with different names.there was nothing wrong with them.Boleros had dueling pianos which was very entertaining.I enjoy tequila but on the cruiseline they usually have cheap and crappy tequila well they started carrying better brands and i noticed and improvement in the top shelf brands and wine list.i hope covered everything.any additional questions please feel free to ask.enjoy and thanks to everyone for their tips before we went.(by the way we were celebrating our anniversary and we had a cake waiting in our room and on formal night they sent chocolate strawberries all on their own we never asked.was great)

Since the renovations, could you please tell me if they have changed the keys for the cabin doors? Last May you had to have your sea pass card but also a seperate key card. I like the way the sea pass also opens the doors on the newer ships. Less to worry about losing!

Thanks

we used the seapass card for the door.in our suite they also had the safe where you slide your seapass card to lock and unlock it.was pretty neat.

Did you have lobster for an entree one night, we were told on the 3-4 day cruise they do not serve lobster. What types of food did they serve? What room did you stay in?? Thanks for taking the time to reply to our questions and glad to hear you had a good time. We will be on her in May.:D :D

Dear jphc,

You had JS 1570? We are booked in 1566 for the 12/27 and 1584 for the 12/30 - we are doing B2B to make it a week's cruise.

Was there any noise from the deck above? We're not sure what is one Deck 11 at that point.

How big is the balcony? Did anyone have to sleep on the sofabed? If so, how comfortable was it?

What was in your Crown & Anchor booklet? How was the casino? Did you win at all?

What do you recommend for Nassau? We've been there and don't love it. Should we just enjoy an empty ship?

I know that I'll have a zillion more questions. Thanks for all your help.

Carol

balcony is large enough for two chairs and a small table you can sit there and enjoy it without feeling cramped.no casino for us but in the c&r booklet alot of extras for casino photo credits and johnny rocket and ben and jerrys coupon plus free coffee from seattles best.we dont find much interesting in nassau so for the second time we tried the breezes excursion all inclusivef for 78.00 a person.it really SUCKED!they treated us like crap especially at the bar as if we were some bums trying to get a free drink.the chairs were terrible and weather beaten we lasted 20 minutes and took a taxi back to the ship and stayed by the pool was ptactically empty and found it to be much better .a lesson learned.

by the way the best thing i packed was ear plugs .on our cruise before this one we hardly slept because they always have something going on by the pool late at night and then the crew drags everything around ,putting all chairs back and removing all tables and whatevert from the party.i would highly recommend earplugs!enjoy.

comparing the two ships i assume you mean majesty and sovereign.now that sovereign has balconies and refurb they both are fine .Sov is easier for us we live 20 minutes from port canaveral.if you leave out of miami you get to nassau at 8 am port canaveral you get there around 11 am.
