Spence Posted April 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Hi fellow travelers, I need a breathing machine while sleeping (CPAP). Is there an outlet by the bed? If I need to bring a extension cord, how long should it be? Thanks in advance
7nucruzers Posted April 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2005 We were on the Jewel in 11/04 - one of our group members uses a breathing machine. He did not bring an extension cord - he contacted maintenance and they brought him one. Not sure but I do believe he had to make a $50 deposit on his SeaPass card which was refunded when the cord was returned. You could call the cruise line to confirm this so you won't have to drag one with you. Hope this helps. Happy sailing!
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted April 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2005 The cabins have only 1 outlet, at the desk across from the beds. I would bring a 6 foot power strip, it should be fine for your cpap. It's nothing to pack and takes no room at all in the suitcase! Its a standard on my packing list!! ;) ***
setcarp Posted April 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2005 I am not sure how close it has to be, but 6' may not be enough. We were on NOS and going to put x-mas lights on out balcony and a 6' cord did not go very far in a JS
Celmar Posted April 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2005 My husband also has a CPAP and will need an outlet. We will be in a JS on the Monarch in June. Does anyone know about the outlet situation on the Monarch in particular? Thanks for you help.
dcdiva Posted April 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2005 We were in a JS on the Jewel and the only outlet in the main cabin area was at the desk/vanity at the foot of the bed. You will definitely need an extension cord -- and one that's a bit more than 6ft. The cabin was quite wide, so an 8 or even 10 ft cord would be a better bet.
