Rachie B Posted January 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2012 head out of the port and keep the sea on your right. walk for about 15/20 mins and you are there ! we went to The Boatyard, but I believe Lobster Alive is next door or so
jspirit Posted January 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Is the walk you mention once you get thru the stores where the ship shuttle drops us off? Then do you follow the sidewalk or does that go into town? Last year we got as far as the taxis and then it got confusing so we hopped in for a ride. I would rather try to walk but would need a little more guidance on which route to take. Is there a sidewalk along the water? Thanks for any help! aimodels Posted January 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Walk through the cruise terminal and head southeast towards the south gatehouse. Once through the gatehouse you'll see a roundabout where taxis like to sit and wait. Keep going straight with the ocean on your right - you are now on Princess Alice Hwy. You will pass Pelican Village and the Princess Alice Bus Terminal on your left. Keep going past the Fishing Harbour on your right, until the road makes a gentle S-bend. You are now on Wharf Rd. Keep going until you reach Bridge St. (which is also Hwy. 7). Turn right on Bridge St. and go over the canal. You should see the Fairchild St. Bus Terminal on your left. Go another 3 blocks or so until the road makes another S-bend and becomes Bay St. (still Hwy. 7) Another block or so you should see Lobster Alive, The Boatyard and Roger's Scuba Shack on your right. Another route is to hang a left on Cumberland just after the Fishing Harbour and go about a block until you reach Jubilee Gardens. Go right, through the gardens and you'll see Broad St. This is where a lot of the shopping is... Follow Broad St. for about 6-8 blocks until you hit Bridge St. and go over the canal with the Fairchild St. Terminal on your left. If you get lost, just ask any local on the street. They are friendly and more than willing to help. I got lost once in Bridgetown, so I stopped and asked a local. He actually walked with me about 8 blocks to the bus terminal. I had a wonderful conversation with him the whole way... Keep the ocean on your right and you can't miss... Cheers, P:)

Thanks for any help! yes once you get through the shops and past the gates / taxis etc :) theres a waterside sidewalk for a little while, then we crossed a bridge over the canal and just kept heading in the same direction and found it easily enough if you were to lose your way everyone is so friendly they would be sure to help you :)
jspirit Posted January 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We will give it another try. Thanks, both, for your help!
cruiseapril Posted January 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2012 We were at Harbour Lights in April. It is about 4 miles from the Cruise Terminal. A taxi would be good to take if it is a hot day- or at least take one way! But H Lights is farther than some of the other beach resorts.
aimodels Posted January 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2012 If I recall correctly, it's only about another 3/4 mile or so further down Highway 7 (Bay St) from the Boatyard and Lobsters Alive... All in all, maybe about 2 miles from the port. Maybe someone else can confirm this? Cheers, P:)
